The First Functional Printing China to be held in Beijing this May in conjunction with China Print 2013

04.21.2013
The first Functional Printing China co-hosted by the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China and Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is going to be held in New China International Exhibition Center (Beijing) on May 16th, 2013.

The printed electronics industry is based on the new information industrial technology emerging in the 1970s. Later, American and Japanese scientists found that using iodine can make polymers electrically conductive. They won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2000. The discovery opened a door for the
development of the printed electronics industry. Currently, some technologies of printed electronics reach the practical level. Large-scale production has been rolled out in the printed electronics industry. It’s predicted that the global printed electronics industry will witness rapid growth in the next 3 to 5 years. In 2011, the global market value of the printed electronics industry was only $2.4 billion USD, mainly generated from applications such as e-books and electronic video labels. The market value will surpass $100 billion USD by 2021, which is going to be in the same order of magnitude as the $300 billion USD silicon-based microelectronics market.

China is the largest producers and consumers of electronic products as well as a major player in the global printing industry. Currently, there are around 180,000 printing-related enterprises in China, and the annual output value of the printing industry accounts for 5% of GDP in China. By 2015, the products and technologies of organic printed electronics in China will be focused on the fields of intelligent products, organic sensor, flexible display 0-TFT, flexible battery, printed RFID, printing storage, and organic photovoltaics. The main products will include large-area game sensor, potentiometric sensor, flexible color electronic reader, flexible high capacity battery for continuous application and self-powered building.

Printing enterprises have been pursuing corporate breakthrough, upgrade and innovation in conjunction with current industrial development trends in order to penetrate into the new blue ocean of profitability. The first Functional Printing China is just what they need. In this forum, renowned European and U.S. enterprises and industrial experts in the fields of functional printing will be invited to conduct in-depth discussion regarding the development trends, market potentials, materials and technologies of functional printing in China and the whole world.

Based on the win-win cooperation between the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China and Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., both parties will commit their utmost advantages in order to position the Functional Printing China as an international and cutting-edge forum. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH has been promoting functional printing in its world-class exhibitions such as K,COMPAMED, EuroShop, interpack, glasstec/solarpeq, EuroCIS and drupa. PEPSO Global has become a very important platform for the industries to have access to technologies and products of functional printing. The Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China will introduce its rich industry resources, technological development and scientific research to the forum. In addition, there have been more than 1000 enterprises participating in the concurrent 8th China Print 2013, with an estimated visitor of 160,000.
