The two-day conference and expo focused on the core theme of “development opportunities of energy storage of
new urbanization”, and comprehensively discuss about 'solar-plus-storage'
models together with other hot topics such
as the latest energy storage policies and market trends
both at home and abroad, energy storage applications in smart cities, buildings
and traffic systems, decentralized solar and energy storage
systems, 'solar-plus-storage' solutions, development of decentralized 'solar-plus-storage'
driven by multiple investment and
financing models, advanced energy storage technology
demands and solutions, renewable energy
storage technologies,
and renewable
energy batteries. 50 speakers, over 20 exhibitors and
sponsors, and 518 visitors from 10
countries participated in the event, and more than 50 journalists attended
the conference and publish live reports.
Over 50 media of industry like Energy
Storage Science and Technology, China Energy News,
Power News, Chine Electric Power News, Machinery & Electronics Business News, www.bjx.com.cn, www.inengyuan.com, www.chinaero.com.cn, Energy of China and Energy Weekly etc. as
well as mass media like as well
as mass media including Xinhua News
Agency, www.china.com.cn, China Securities Journal and Bloomberg New Energy Finance etc. were present on site to cover the conference. The brand value of Energy Storage China was created through multiple campaign channels
like magazine, newspapers, network and video.
Ms. Zhang Jing, managing
director of the China Energy Storage Alliance, stated the purpose of the
conference, “Theme of the conference will
focus on three sectors: promoting the energy storage policies, pushing on the
basic R&D technology, seeking more opportunities for the energy storage applications.
Through the conference, we invited global energy storage corporations and
related industries players to join the discussion together, creating a better
platform of cooperation and exchange for everyone and promoting the industrial
development. “
Mr. Heiko
Stutzinger, Head of Renewable Energy Fairs of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and Board Member of the German
Energy Storage Association (BVES), was quite satisfied with the result of the conference, “I think China has done a significant
progress in the last two years and it needs to catch up with the developments
because there are very aggressive renewable targets. If you have a lot of
renewable fluctuating into grid, you actually need storage in order to balance.
On the recent stage in China, I have seen here a huge interest from regulation
side, grid side and utility side, which is a good sign. I would encourage
everybody to attend our Energy Storage China Conference, get the foot on the
ground, make your contacts, be here to raise your flag, show your branding to
grasp the business opportunities.”
At the opening plenary, Ms. Tina Zhang, Secretary-General of CNESA
released annual white paper with industry statistics of energy storage:
According to the energy
storage project database established by the CNESA, in spite of
setbacks in 2013, e.g. bankruptcy of leading players like A123 and Xtreme
Power, and shutdown of some energy storage
demonstration projects, the global energy
storage industry is, generally speaking, growing up steadily.

“In the short-term, the
existing investment which will happen in China and cost reduction will be happening,
I think it will enable India or maybe adopt energy storage to grow much faster
away. Then India is waiting to set up own manufacture and bring down the cost in
India. It will be a win-win situation
for both China and India.”
Primus Power, Mr. Tom Stepien, CEO
“This is my first attendance
to Energy Storage China. I attended many of Energy Storage Conference in Washington, D.C.
and other places in North America. What was great to see here is there are
participants we don’t have seen in our conferences. Some of the agent suppliers
of battery systems, and of course some are the will users, the focuses are
going to be integrating systems putting the amount of the grid or the actual
product to put it themselves. We don’t have that type of exposure at home
United States. That is part of why we come here. The other side is also very
successful. “
