This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. After 70 years of endless efforts and innovation, China's economy has made remarkable progress. As one of the world's top exhibition organizers, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH saw great business opportunities in China during the period of ‘Reform and Opening Up’. In 1999, Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MDC) was established in Hong Kong, committed to helping Chinese companies to attend overseas trade fairs and establish business relationships with global partners.
In 2009, in order to expand its business in China mainland, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH set up a subsidiary in Shanghai — Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MDS), with a branch office in Beijing. At present, the company has more than 70 experienced employees, providing all-round service for overseas enterprises to expand their market share by participating in the exhibitions held in China.
Past decades witnessed that MDS's exhibitions in various fields have achieved steady development, pumping fresh energy into China's growth engine

A Glance at MDS Show Portfolio
When entering the millennium, China's printing industry went into a fast growth track, with nearly 300 printing enterprises founded every year. In order to promote the development of China's printing industry and build up constant communication channels between China and the world, MDS took advantage of the global resources of its mother show Drupa held in Düsseldorf and collaborated with The Printing Technology Association of China and The China Academy of Printing Technology to launch the first All in Print China (AIP) in 2003. Nowadays, AIP is one of the most influential professional exhibitions for printing in China. In 2018, the 7th AIP reached a record with an exhibition area of 110,000 sqm, covering 9 pavilions, attracting 1,030 exhibitors and 100,933 visitors from the globe.
In addition, Messe Düsseldorf plays a great role in promoting China's wire and cable, tube and pipe industries, which are known as the "nerve" and "blood vessel" of national economy. In 2004, the first wire China and Tube China was held in Shanghai, with Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute Co., Ltd. and The Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade as co-organizers. In the following years, wire & Tube China succeeded in growing into the second largest events of wire & Tube global exhibition portfolio. Together with the Shanghai Fastener & Tech Show. wire & Tube China not only connect the upstream and downstream enterprises efficiently, but also greatly facilitated the one-stop procurement of buyers from all over the world.
In terms of plastics and rubber business, CHINAPLAS is definitely a trade platform to be mentioned. As one of the organizers, Messe Düsseldorf witnessed the significant growth of CHINAPLAS, which has become one of the world leading plastics and rubber trade fair after decades of development. For the Guangzhou fair concluded this May, 3,600+ global exhibitors showcased their innovative products and technologies, including 180+ worldwide or Asia debut of new and hot technologies.
Besides, MDS also joins hands with Adsale Exhibition to organize the Shanghai World of Packaging (swop) every two years, which is a member of interpack alliance. swop makes full use of interpack as the global network to help domestic manufacturers of processing and packaging machinery and packaging materials to seek business opportunities and develop innovatively. Meanwhile, its buyers come from various end use industries, such as food, beverage, confectionery, baked goods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and daily care products, etc.
On the other hand, China is experiencing a new period of consumption upgrading. People's expenditure on entertainment, culture experience, transportation and tourism has increased significantly. The rapid growth of All in CARAVANING (AIC) and ProWine China (PWC) in recent years is the evidence.
True to the motto "At home, anywhere", people can experience the entire fascination of mobile travelling not only at CARAVAN SALON in Germany, but also at All in CARAVANING in China since 2012. After AIC’s debut, it has grown into the most professional RV platform in Asia and also an ideal destination for Chinese people to learn about RV culture. From only 53 exhibitors in 2012 to 200 participating brands, together with 500 RV displayed and 24,008 visitors at new venue in 2019, we're proud to say that AIC is accelerating the popularity of RV culture in China and bring new concept to family tour.
At the same time, with the support of ProWein, the No. 1 event for wines and spirits worldwide, ProWine China has been known as a must-be event of this industry in China within a few years. Last year, PWC 2018 was the largest ever, welcomed 750 established wine producers and distributors from 39 countries and 18,936 trade visitors attended the three-day trade event. Its rapid growth proves that Chinese consumption habits are undergoing great changes. By tasting wines and spirits, people can experience the happiness brought by the high-quality lifestyle more directly. Besides, ProWine ASIA, as the newest of ProWein Düsseldorf's family of international trade fairs, now spans across the premier trading hubs of Asia-Pacific — held in Hong Kong China and Singapore in biennial fashion.
