Mr. Marius Berlemann Shared Insights at CEFCO 2022

The 17th China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO 2022) concluded successfully on January 14, 2022 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. With the theme of “New Paradigm, New Mission, New Development”, CEFCO 2022 combined onsite and virtual formats and restarted the platform to promote communication and cooperation for the MICE industry.  

CEFCO 2022 was co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), and Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO). This year, the forum welcomed about 500 professionals from home and abroad including governments, representatives, exhibition organizers, associations, venue operators and medias to discuss the latest developments of the industry, explore the path to the future and share valuable experience, focusing on the industry's road to recovery under the changes of global economy and development opportunities of MICE industry under the “Dual-Circulation” new development paradigm.

Mr. Marius Berlemann, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., was invited to attend session and shared his opinion on the topic of “Insight into the Profound Changes of the Exhibition Industry during the Post-epidemic Era”.

Mr. Marius Berlemann believes, that with the post-epidemic era, digital formats will dramatically drop in their importance (awareness and investments). He said: “Digital formats will not replace face-to-face platforms but are an accelerator for widening our connection services. In the post-epidemic era, it will leave us with being a marketing communication tool to raise awareness and promote the physical exhibition throughout the year with key digital events. Meanwhile, after the industries reshuffle due to the epidemic, tier 1 exhibition cities will win back its importance. In the future, B2B exhibitions in China will continue to develop into multidimensional purpose platforms for growing industries. The number of exhibitions in each industry will be consolidated, which will underline the importance of brand exhibitions."

The next CEFCO will be held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. MDS looks forward to meeting more industry peers and to build new cooperations there.
